So I made it to New York City. It only took me leaving Fairbanks at 10:30 am AST (my flight was delayed) and arriving at Newark at 1:30 am EST. Dustin dropped me off at the Airport around 7:30 am and my flight was supposed to leave for Minneapolis at 9:00 am. Before we checked in, people were being told that they would probably miss their connections and have to spend a night in Minneapolis. This didn’t sound like all that bad of a plan as I don’t really have anything planned for my next couple days in the city. They would pay for the hotel room, transportation, and even throw in some food money. As I arrived in Minneapolis, I was told that my flight was delayed and I might make my connection… yay. So I moseyed over to my gate, only to find out that I was going to be delayed again and again for the next two hours. So not only did I not get a free night in a hotel, but I arrived extremely early into Newark with no way to get to NYC.

Mom booked me a hotel room for the night in Newark and it was settled.

I arrived at my Whitehouse Hostel to find out that my room is 6′x4′. And all the rooms are open air at the top, so everybody can hear EVERYTHING else that is going on.

The rest of my day was pretty good though. I walked all over the place. I headed up to visit some pals at CMJ. And as I predicted, Moose was in a meeting again. Then over to the IRTS offices where I finally got to meet Kathy. She is even better in person. And it warms my heart to find out that she actually gets most of my humor, so no problems there. I ate lunch in Grand Central Station. And took the train down to Washington Square Park where I sat and read all the comics I had purchased at Forbidden Planet earlier in the day. After a while I noticed the guy next to me was Christian Finnegan (Best Week Ever). Not being a huge fanboy, I just went back to finishing my Sarah Vowell book.

I talked with Eli and I’m going to start to help out with some Cracked Out stuff at UCB. (updates as they come)

And now I’m off to see a Cage Match at UCB. And tomorrow Sarah is coming into town to hang out for a bit and we’re going to see HARRY AND THE POTTERS!!!!!
