Union Square Pillow Fight

Today… well, I had one of the oddest experiences I have actually had while living here in the city. I noticed earlier in the week that there was going to be a gigantic pillow fight in Union Square today, so I did what anybody would… I went to work and grabbed a recorder to report on this fantastic event. Most people were alright with me walking up to them and asking for an interview, even though I did get a couple “fuck Fox News!” my way. I was able to get some great sound and as the crowd counted down to the start of the event, I should have started to worry.
Out of nowhere everything I knew in the world fell into chaos. I couldn’t open my eyes because everybody and everything around me was being pummeled by pillows. It was not long after that when the air became filled with feathers, then glitter.
Overall the experience was amazing, I ran into people I had talked to before, during the actual fight and all you could do was make a face before you were thwapped over the head or across the back. I inched my way back to work and cut up some of the sound I had acquired and placed it in the feeds. Hopefully before the end of the weekend I will have a wrap up here much like the one I did for the Giants Times Square celebration.
