I Am The Dumpling Man: Rickshaw Truck

Let this be the first in a series I shal call “I am the dumpling man.” As some of you may know, I love dumplings. I am now going to make it my mission to try as many of them as I can. This afternoon shortly after waking up I discovered via twitter the location of the Rickshaw Dumpling truck and that it would be right around the corner from work. So I hopped on the train ready to get some tasty treats in me for lunch.

I got the Chicken dumplings ($6) and watermelonade ($4). I was really excited when opening the package but my large hunger would not be quenched by six small dumplings. Although pretty tasty, come on, six dollars for this? On top of that I had my first taste of watermelonade, to my horror to find out it tasted exactly like watermelon juice. I was expecting the drink to be much sweeter and I’ll admit I was hoping for more of an artificial watermelon flavor.

In the end, I felt kind of ripped off, but not enough to be angry about it. A decent meal in midtown for ten bucks is an alright deal, but I could have gotten more for the same price.

I hope to continue these types of posts as I love dumplings and hopefully others will share my joy. Next time I hit up the acutal Dumpling Man, I shal give it a glowing review because I freaking love that place.
