Enough Already…

This is my final “End of 08″ post ever. Yes, it is true. I hope to not do anymore of these as 2009 approaches. I’ve never been a huge fan of the YAY EVERYTHING WILL BE DIFFERENT NEXT YEAR, because it never is. Hell, I’m still waiting on flying cars from the ’50s. Weren’t the Jetson’s only the “near future?” As the title of this goes, Enough Already, I don’t like doing these the same as you don’t like reading them, but if you must, dear readers, below are a few of the best one of the worst things to happen in 2008 for me.

As an added bonus, I’ve also included my yearly Myspace survey. This years comes from Kim’s post entitled, “shut up and let me go hey!”

Photos and Memories from 2008

This is from the Union Square pillow fight I attended in March. It was one of my favorite things I have done since moving to New York. I would like to cover it a little differently in 2009.

Here I am with David Archuleta from American Idol. The only reason I took this was to send it to my Grandma Hock… It is still one of the best decisions I have ever made for the sole sake of secretly recording our conversation and hearing her scream like a 14 year old girl after she thought I was off the phone.

I love this freaking cat. Almost every morning, I roll over and there she is curled up next to my computer. It is awesome. You have no idea how hard it is to not post a picture of her on this site every single day. I have enough pictures that I probably could.

Losing Nick was one of the worst things that has ever happened to me in my life. I didn’t really talk about his death on here much, and I don’t plan to. He was a dear friend and I try to remember him every day. It was hard for me to accept that he had other friends that he may have been closer to after I left UAF. But for a solid two years there we were very close. I’ll remember his ability to be one of, if not the best friend I’ve ever had. And he was the worst person to go see a movie with, he talked the entire damn time. I’ll always miss you Smalls.

This is a picture of Shayna and myself from my trip to Alaska in June. By far one of the best times I have had in a while was just running around Fairbanks with cameras taking pictures. Jess, Shayna, and I were all over the place, and Jess was kind enough to stop puking from how cute we are for 5 minutes and take a series of pictures of us on these blocks and wearing my now Internet famous “I’m in love with… Pancakes” shirts.

This is my favorite moment of 2008. Summed up in a single photograph. No further explanation needed.

The Mp3 Experiment. Group think is for introverts. I had a blast running around this field on Governor’s Island. I can’t wait to take more people next year.

This is probably the 3rd time I’ve posted this picture on this page in the last 2 weeks. Santacon was awesome. Everything I said above basically applies here. Only imagine being surrounded by an entire ocean of red and white that smells like Grandpa’s medicine cabinet. Now multiply that by 30 and you have a pretty good idea of what this was like.

Final Thoughts

2008 was probably the best and worst year of my life all rolled into one. Very high highs and Extremely low lows. What can I say, hopefully 2009 will have less extreme lows and it will make the average higher. I want to thank everybody for helping me get this far in life and I can hopefully continue to make you proud.
